A Quiet Place Part II is a 2020 American post-apocalyptic horror film written, directed and co-produced by John Krasinski. It is a sequel to the 2018 film A Quiet Place, and follows the family from the previous film as they navigate and survive in a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by blind, hearing aliens. Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe and Krasinski reprise their roles from the first film, with Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou also joining the cast.
Following the box office success of the first film, Paramount Pictures began developing a sequel in April 2018. Krasinski was confirmed to be writing the screenplay the following August and to be directing again in February 2019. Krasinski’s original idea for the film was to give Simmons the lead role.

During a Little League baseball game in the small town of Millbrook, New York, the Abbott family (wife Evelyn, husband Lee, deaf daughter Regan, and sons Marcus and Beau) and other spectators witness a strange meteorite-like object crashing towards the Earth. Shortly after, hostile alien creatures known as Angels of Death emerge from the meteorite and begin slaughtering the townsfolk. The blind creatures have armored skin and exceptional speed and strength. They track their victims with their hypersensitive hearing and attack anything that makes the slightest sound.
A Quiet Place Part II Review
As a huge fan of A Quiet Place, I was super excited to see the sequel, A Quiet Place Part 2. It was definitely one of the best sequels I’ve ever seen. I love the fact that we were given a brief explanation of how the creatures got there and how the apocalypse began, but were also given different storylines that seemed to fit together perfectly at the same time. The new characters were never overwhelming and the plot flowed beautifully from start to finish. Personally,
I was a big fan of the first film, but this one jumped right into the story and didn’t necessarily understand where it all began like most alien thriller/horror movies. This gave the sequel a chance to go back a bit and catch up on things we missed in the first part. It also had twice as much action and excitement as the first movie. I was sitting on hot coals throughout the entire movie. Definitely 5 stars and would recommend buying it. Given the emotional ending, I’m sure there will be a third installment!
