Aarya is an Indian crime thriller drama series on Disney+ Hotstar, co-created and directed by Ram Madhvani and Sandeep Modi, and co-directed by Vinod Rawat. The series is produced by Madhvani in association with Endemol Shine Group under Ram Madhvani Films, stars Sushmita Sen in the title role, and is based on the Dutch drama series Penosa The series tells the story of Aarya, an independent woman who wants to protect her family and joins a mafia gang to avenge the murder of her husband. Recently, the show was nominated for an International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series.
Aarya was originally scheduled to be released on March 29, 2020, but was postponed due to post-production delays. It was released on Disney+ Hotstar on June 19, 2020. The series marked Sushmita Sen’s comeback and also her digital debut. The series received positive reviews, with critics praising Sen’s acting. Sen won the Filmfare OTT Award for Best Female Actress, and the series received eight nominations. In July 2020, Sushmita Sen and Ram Madhvani announced a second season of the series.
Filming for season two began in Jaipur on March 1, 2021, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and wrapped up in June 2021. Season two premiered on December 10, 2021.[7] The first half of the third season, consisting of four episodes, premiered on November 3, 2023. The second half of the third season, consisting of the remaining four episodes, premiered on February 9, 2024.

This web series is very engaging and well made. It has 3 parts and is nearly 18 hours in total, there is hardly a dull moment, be it the thriller part, the romance part or the emotional part. Very well acted by Susmita Sen and other very good characters. The beauty of this entire web series is that it shows the dark side and also the good side of everyone. Every episode, every season is worth watching. There are more links to all the previous episodes and seasons. Don’t miss any season or episode. Another web serial that impressed me after a long time.
