Beast is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film written and directed by Nelson Dhilipkumar and produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures. The film stars Vijay and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles, alongside Selvaraghavan, Shaji Chen, VTV Ganesh, Ankur Vikal, Aparna Das, Satish Krishnan, Shine Tom Chacko, Yogi Babu and Reddine Kingsley. The film follows former RAW agent Veera Raghavan as he attempts to rescue hostages in a mall that is raided by terrorists who are attempting to free their leader Umar Farooq, who was previously captured by Veera.

Sun Pictures acquired the production rights to the film, which will be Vijay’s 65th film, in January 2020. It was initially to be directed by AR Murugadoss. However, he was removed from the film after refusing to take a reduction in his remuneration. Nelson was subsequently brought on board and the film was announced in December 2020 with the working title “Thalapathy 65

Beast Movie Story

RAW agent Veera Raghavan is stationed in Pakistan to apprehend notorious terrorist Umar Farooq. Veera manages to capture Farooq, but a rocket-propelled grenade he fires to stop Farooq’s escape injures and kills a civilian child. Traumatized, Veera leaves the agency and returns to Chennai. 11 months later, Veera is suffering from PTSD and traumatic childhood memories.

Beast Movie Review

This is a movie I might watch again. It’s visually arresting and Starr is beautiful in a fresh yet complex way. It deals with three different characters over time, from the past to the present. There’s a spectacular drowning scene. The male lead is interesting and has to play a variety of roles, which he does well. The beginning of the film is slow but things get better towards the middle.
