Bird Box Barcelona is a 2023 post-apocalyptic horror thriller film directed and written by Alex and David Pastor. It is a spin-off sequel to the 2018 film Bird Box, based on Josh Malerman’s 2014 novel of the same name, and stars Mario Casas, Naila Schubert, Georgina Campbell, and Diego Calva. After a creature of mysterious origin wipes out the world’s population and those who observe it commit suicide, Sebastian and his daughter embark on an epic survival adventure in Barcelona.

The world is plagued by a mysterious entity that manipulates people’s negative emotions, turning some into “prophets”, while most people commit suicide after seeing the entity. A common prevention method is to wear a blindfold outdoors. In Barcelona, Spain, Sebastian and his daughter Anna travel together.
One day, Sebastian meets a group of survivors who claim to know the location of a generator that produces light and heat. Sebastian joins the others at their hiding place in a bus hangar. The next morning, while everyone is asleep on the bus, Sebastian takes it outside and causes an accident. Everyone is left without a blindfold.
Bird Box Barcelona Movie Review
Anyone who thinks badly about this is either ignorant or simply doesn’t understand the craft of looking at a movie through the eyes of the “antagonist”. It’s not a great movie by any means, but it’s really great when you see it from a different perspective. The cast was great, the acting was great, and the story was very easy to follow, so give it a chance! It’s a spin-off, not a sequel, but it’s certainly a very good one.
