Heart of Stone is a 2023 American spy action thriller film written by Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder, with a story by Rucka, and directed by Tom Harper. The film stars Gal Gadot, Jamie Dornan, Alia Bhatt (in her Hollywood debut), Sophie Okonedo, and Matthias Schweighofer. The film follows Rachel, a global intelligence officer who embarks on a dangerous mission to protect a mysterious AI system called “The Heart”.

She is tasked by the Peace Charter’s mission to protect the object from falling into enemy hands. Development began in December 2020, with Gadot in the lead role. The following month, Harper and Netflix were named director and distributor, respectively, and the rest of the cast was confirmed in early 2022. Filming took place in Europe from January to July of the same year. It cost $150 million to make, making it one of Netflix’s most expensive original films.

Heart of Stone Movie Review

There were so many negative reviews because people expected it to be an MI movie. The action scenes in Heart of Stone can be improved and brought up to MI level, but I have no complaints about the action. Comparing the weak story doesn’t mean that the MI series has a perfect 10/10 story.

In HOS, the premise was good but the plot could have been better. A female protagonist with MI level action – we need movies like this. Netflix, please make this a good series. The next installment will have a good storyline and strong characters.
