The following morning, Karnan and his group arrive at the police station to inquire about the missing elders. The police feign ignorance and dismiss them. Outside, a helper at the nearby tea shop informs Karnan about the events of the previous night. Fueled by anger, Karnan storms back into the station, leading a confrontation with the police. They manage to find the elders trapped on the rooftop under the scorching sun and rescue them using a confiscated tractor.
In response, Podiyankulam fortifies itself, preparing for a police retaliation due to Karnan’s defiance. The District Collector cautions Kannabiran to avoid any casualties at all costs. Meanwhile, Draupadhi and Vadamaalaiyan resolve their differences with Karnan, and Yaema Raja works on securing the village. However, Karnan receives an appointment letter from the CRPF. Despite the villagers urging him to pursue a better future, he refuses to leave. Shortly after his departure, the police launch a brutal attack on the village. In a desperate act to protect his community, Yaema Raja commits self-immolation.
