After a year abroad in London, Emma returns home and surprises her mother Lana with the news that she will be getting married in a month at a resort in Phuket, Thailand. Emma Winslow, who worked for Discovery Resorts in London, gets a surprise proposal from her boyfriend RJ after a year of dating. Concerned about her mother Lana’s reaction, Emma announces her decision to run her own business instead of pursuing further education or a job. She reveals her upcoming wedding in Thailand, sponsored by Discovery for publicity. Lana, a geneticist from San Francisco, fears RJ may hurt Emma like her ex did to her. A confrontation with Will, RJ’s father and Lana’s former lover, uncovers past wounds, but they reconcile.
Lana clashes with Camala, the wedding planner, over control of the event. An incident involving a mute Lucas, a boat ride, and some skinny dipping hints at a potential romance between Lana and Will. Emma’s initial misgivings about her mother’s behavior lead to a heart-to-heart, leading to Lana’s emotional outburst before a smooth wedding ceremony where Lana accepts Will’s proposal, putting past doubts to rest.

It’s good. Great actors. I kept being put off by the trailer bc it looked putty on and fake and brooke shields looked masculine in it.
But I settled down and watched it and I am so glad I did. That trailer did not do her justice bc she is so drop dead gorgeous in this movie. Her acting and beauty literally steal the show. It’s a love story that is very heart warming, funny, calming, and sweet. Perfect for when you’re on your period. Or just having a burnout and need to watch something calm and soothing. I loved it.
