Obi-Wan Kenobi is an American space opera miniseries produced by Lucasfilm for the Disney+ streaming service. It is part of the Star Wars franchise. The series is set ten years after the demise of the Jedi Order following the events of Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005), and follows the surviving Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi as he emerges from hiding to fight to rescue Princess Leia, who has been kidnapped by the Inquisitors of the Galactic Empire. This brings Kenobi into conflict with his former student, Darth Vader.
Ewan McGregor plays the title character, reprising his role from the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Co-stars Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Jimmy Smits, Hayden Christensen (Vader) and Ian McDiarmid will also reprise their roles from the prequel trilogy.

When his adoptive father, Bail Organa, arrives at home for a visit, Kenobi agrees to rescue Leia. After tracking her captors to the planet Daiyu, Kenobi encounters the impostor Haja Estree, who claims to be a Jedi. Haja leads Kenobi to Leia’s location, where he defeats the kidnappers and rescues her.
Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 1 Review
Unlike many others, I really enjoyed the show. It had its slow parts and the story was weak at times. It was also a well thought out sequel to Obi-Wan/Anakin’s Ark. She shows Obi-Wan’s trademark strength with compassion and good heart, setting up the final battle between the two and his eventual return to the light and sacrifice of Anakin.
It was inspiring to see Obi, tired and depressed, reawakened to his former strength and wisdom. The little glimpses of Leia and Luke and their reunion with Organa were nice. This is a more subtle and thoughtful addition that builds on the characters without causing any continuity errors All in all, this is a great addition to the characters and the story.
