Sita Ramam (translation: Sita and Ram) is a 2022 Telugu-language Indian romantic historical drama film directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. The film is produced by C. Aswani Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema. It stars Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles.
Set in 1964, the film depicts the story of Lt. Ram, an orphan army officer serving on the Kashmir border, who receives an anonymous love letter from Sita Mahalakshmi. Ram then goes in search of Sita and proposes to her. Principal photography began in April 2021 and ended in April 2022. Filming took place in Hyderabad, Kashmir, and Russia. The film’s music is composed by Vishal Chandrasekhar and cinematography is by P. S. Vinod and Shreyas Krishna.
Seeta Ramam was released theatrically on 5 August 2022 and received generally positive reviews, with critics praising Hanu’s direction, story, screenplay, screenplay, soundtrack, music, emotional depth, and acting (especially that of Thakur and Salman). The film was a huge commercial success, grossing Rs 91.4 million at the box office. This made it the ninth highest-grossing Telugu film of 2022.
