Soorarai Pottru is a 2020 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Sudha Kongara, who co-wrote the screenplay with Shalini Usha Nal. Co-produced by Suriya, Jyothika and Guneet Monga, the film stars Suriya, Aparna Balamurali and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles, with Mohan Babu, Urvashi and Karunas in supporting roles.
The film is inspired by events from the life of G. R. Gopinath, founder of Indian low-cost airline SimplyFly Deccan, as depicted in his memoir Simply Fly: A Journey in the Deccan. The project was announced in mid-2018 with the working title “Suriya 38”, with the official title announced in April 2019.

Sathya Dev’s voice is definitely unique, but it took quite some time for him to agree to voice Suriya in this film. The fact that Sathya Dev is also an established actor means that whenever I hear his voice in this film, his face rolls around in my head and sometimes it distracts me from the film
. But it’s Suriya’s amazing performance that makes me overlook these few shortcomings. Overall, the film is worth watching and will be a respite for Suriya, his fans and Amazon Prime.
