The Continental: From the World of John Wick is an American neo-noir crime action drama miniseries created by Greg Coolidge, Kirk Ward, and Shawn Simmons and released as a spin-off and prequel to the John Wick series. Coolidge and Ward served as showrunners for the series and co-wrote the screenplay with Simmons and Ken Christensen. Episodes one and three were directed by Albert Hughes, and episode two was directed by Charlotte Brandstrom. It stars Mel Gibson and Colin Woodell.
The series premiered on September 22, 2023 in the United States on Peacock and internationally on Amazon Prime Video.

And that’s fine. This is not a John Wick story. It starts off with a rollercoaster of cool action scenes, then the story completely changes direction. You’re kept on the ride, but it’s more of a discovery, with the introduction and development of characters.
All of this is accentuated by the soundtrack, sets and period costumes. I like it because it adds to the legend but stays within the already established boundaries of the John Wick universe.
