Uma Maheshwara Ugra Ropathya also known by the initials UMUR, is a 2020 Indian Telugu comedy film directed by Venkatesh Maha and produced by Shoub Yarlagadda, Prasad Devgnini and Vijaya Praveena Paruchuri under their respective banners Arka Media Works and Manayana Motion Pictures. The film stars Satyadev as Uma Maheshwara Rao, co-starring Naresh, Suhas, Raghavan, Hari Chandana and Roopa Koduvayur.
The film is a remake of the Malayalam film Maheshinthe Prathikaaram (2016) the film itself is based on real events in the life of Thampan Purushan of Thuravoor, Cherthala. It is a story about photographer Uma Maheshwara Rao, who tries to resolve a conflict with a friend.

It’s a beautiful film. I used to watch the Malayalam version a lot, but to be honest, I feel like the soul of the story is almost lost in Telugu. But in this case, Venkatesh Maha has handled it very well. Special praise must be given to the cast. They were so natural, so fun to watch, any memories I had of the original version were erased. It will be boring for those who like formula and masala films.
