In the Viking-inhabited Danelagh region of England, today is St. Brice’s Day, and Harald Sigurdsson is leaving for Norway. Meanwhile, the English ruler Ethelred II orders the murder of all Danish settlers in England, including Harald’s brother Sten Sigurdsson. The Danish ruler, King Knud, calls all Viking warriors to Kattegat to raise an army and take revenge. Greenlanders Leif Eriksson and Freydis Eiriksdottir make their way to Kattegat in a great storm, unaware of the massacre, while Freydis seeks revenge on the man who raped and mutilated her years ago.

Vikings: Valhalla Season 3 Movie Story
Seven years after the events of Season 2, Vikings: Valhalla Season 3 picks up where we left our heroes last, albeit much more established. Freydis is still in Jomsborg, and the district is now a thriving community under her leadership. A chance encounter with a charming stranger, Stigur (Leander Vivey), turns her life around for the better, while an old threat lurks in the background, threatening the peace she has worked so hard to build. Meanwhile,
on the other side of the world, Lief and Harald are approaching their tenth year abroad. Lief continues to mourn Mariam (Hayat Camille) while plotting his next steps, as he doesn’t want to serve in Emperor Romanos’ (Nikolai Kinski) army forever. Harald, meanwhile, is the definition of an irresponsible slacker: His ambition to become King of Norway is in jeopardy as he finds himself embroiled in conflict with his closest military colleague, General Maniakis (Florian Monteanu), and continues to desire Empress Zoe (Sofia Lebedeva).
Vikings: Valhalla Season 3 Movie Review
As a huge fan of the original Vikings, I was really looking forward to Vikings: Valhalla. While it’s not as good as the original, it’s still a really good series that can stand as a great series in its own right (as long as you don’t compare it to the original). It’s set 100 years after the original series and features all the great characters from that series, such as Ragnar, Bjorn, Lagertha, Rollo, and Ivar. It’s also set primarily in Kattegat, home of all these great characters.
All of the new heroes in the series (Leaf, Harold, Freydis, etc.) are very exciting and draw you into the series incredibly well. After finishing season 3 (the final season), I can say I was thoroughly enjoyed throughout the entire series and am very happy they were able to give it a proper ending rather than a cliffhanger.
