Yaanai is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by Hari and produced by Vedikalampatti S. Sakthivel under Drumsticks Productions. The film stars Arun Vijay, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Ramachandra Raju, Samuthirakani, Rajesh, Radhika Sarathkumar, Aishwarya Bhaskaran, Ammu Abhirami, Yogi Babu and Pugazh. The soundtrack and background music have been composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar handled the cinematography, while cinematography and editing were done by Gopinath and Anthony.

The story revolves around Kirubanadi, also known as Punithan (Vijay Sethupathi), who arrives at Father Xavier’s church in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, along with Jesse (Tabya Mathura), a musician from the UK. Father Xavier and everyone at the church initially welcome Punithan, mistaking him for a member of Jesse’s band. However, they later realise that Punithan is not from the UK. To make matters worse, Jesse does not know who Punithan is and claims that he is not a member of his band.
Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir Review
Though the supporting cast does its best in their roles, their characters lack depth and development. Late actors Vivek, Kaniha and Megha Akash deliver commendable performances in their roles.
From a technical point of view, the film is adequate; composer Nivas K. Prasanna in particular ventures into experimental territory with his background music. Still, these elements cannot save a film that lacks coherence and a compelling narrative. Though Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir has a relevant and meaningful message, its execution still has room for improvement.
