Zara Hatke Zara Bachke also abbreviated as ZHZB, is a 2023 Hindi-language romantic comedy film starring Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan as a small-town couple who own their own home. It was written and directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Maddock Films and Geo Studios.
The film’s music has been composed by Sachin Jigar and the lyrics are by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
The film was released in theatres on 2 June 2023 to mixed reviews. Made on a budget of Rs 400 crore, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke became an unexpected hit, grossing Rs 115.89 crore worldwide. At the 69th Filmfare Awards, the film was nominated in four categories, including Best Music Director and Best Lyricist.

Zara Hatke Zara Bachke Movie Story
The story revolves around Kapil and Soumya, a happily married middle-class couple from Indore, who want to buy their own home under the Awas Yojna scheme, a flagship program of the Indian government. The story begins with Kapil, a yoga instructor, and Soumya, a teacher, living in a large family home, where Kapil’s parents and uncles and aunts live. As such,
they have to give up their rooms and sleep in the hallway. Soumya, a Sikh girl, is often treated condescendingly by Kapil’s aunt, as she is a pure Brahmin. Kapil always tries to mediate and reconcile with her by inviting Soumya to lunch and eat her favourite food.
Soumya has always wanted a house of her own, and after finding a house that they both like, the agent tries to get even more money out of what was discussed during the house presentation by making the price of the house look all expensive.

Zara Hatke Zara Bachke Movie Review
I give this movie 4 out of 5 stars. My only complaint is that the editing in the first half of the movie could have been smoother, which would have given the audience a better experience. Otherwise, the story is realistic, emotional and entertaining at the same time. I loved Sara and Vicky Kaushal’s love story in this movie. It is sometimes difficult to digest that these two very different actors have delivered such good performances in this film. I am talking about Sara and Vicky Kaushal.
