Dale and Saul decide to sell Pineapple Express to raise bus fare, but their plan takes a turn when Dale is arrested by Officer Bobbra. He reveals that he witnessed Brazier and Ted commit a murder. Bobbra, suspicious of Brazier’s corruption, assures Dale she will investigate. In a misguided attempt to rescue Dale, Saul hijacks the police car. When Brazier learns about Dale’s arrest via the police radio, he pursues them in a high-speed chase, but they manage to escape. after an argument, Dale and Saul split up, and Saul is soon kidnapped and taken to Ted’s hideout. Meanwhile, Dale breaks up with Angie over the phone when she brings up marriage. Desperate to save Saul, Dale seeks help from an injured Red, but Red backs out at the last moment, leaving Dale to be captured.
While waiting for their fate, Dale and Saul reconcile their friendship and devise an escape plan. Just then, Ted’s rivals, a Korean drug gang, attack the hideout in retaliation for a fallen comrade. In the chaos, Dale and Saul manage to free themselves but are caught by Matheson. A brutal brawl ensues, leading to Matheson killing Budlofsky for refusing to harm Saul. Red returns dramatically, crashing his car through the barn, killing Matheson and rescuing Saul, though he is shot by Brazier in the process. Amidst the chaos, a member of the Korean gang sets off a bomb, killing Ted and igniting a fire in the barn. Red’s car explodes, landing on Brazier and killing her as well.
