In Velaikkaran, Arivazhagan (Sivakarthikeyan) is a dedicated youth from the slum of Kolaikkara Kuppam who seeks to improve the lives of his community. With the help of local gangster Kasi, he starts Kuppam FM 90.8 to empower the people and ultimately turns them against Kasi, undermining his control. Arivu later secures a job at Saffron, a leading FMCG company, where he works in sales and helps his friend Bhagya escape from Kasi’s gang. However, tragedy strikes when Bhagya is killed by Kasi’s men. In the ensuing chaos, Arivu learns that Bhagya was murdered on a contract from Jayaram, the President of Saffron, due to allegations of food adulteration. Determined to combat such unethical practices, Arivu discovers that Aadhi, the brand manager he looks up to, is actually Adhiban Madhav, the son of the owner of a rival company. Aadhi’s true motive is to sabotage Saffron from within.

Arivu initially succeeds in rallying the workers to produce quality products, but Aadhi manipulates the situation to take control of the company and turns the employees against Arivu by framing him as a spy. After a series of confrontations, Arivu exposes Aadhi’s betrayal and encourages the workers to resist the return to adulteration. In a climactic moment, Arivu broadcasts the truth over the radio, inspiring the community to support him. The film concludes with Arivu celebrating his victory against corruption and standing united with his loved ones and the people of his city.
