urassic World: Fallen Kingdom is a 2018 science fiction action film directed by J. A. Bayona, with a screenplay by Derek Connolly and Colin Trevorrow. It serves as the sequel to Jurassic World (2015) and is the second installment in the Jurassic World series, as well as the fifth film in the overall Jurassic Park franchise. The film features returning stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, BD Wong, and Jeff Goldblum, alongside newcomers Toby Jones, Ted Levine, and Rafe Spall.
The plot follows Owen Grady and Claire Dearing as they journey back to Isla Nublar, the fictional Central American island, to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from a looming volcanic eruption. However, they soon uncover the hidden agenda of a mercenary team intent on bringing the dinosaurs to the U.S. mainland. Filming took place from February to July 2017 in the United Kingdom and Hawaii. Fallen Kingdom premiered at the WiZink Center in Madrid on May 21, 2018, before its theatrical release in the United States on June 22, distributed by Universal Pictures. With a production budget of $432 million, it became the second most expensive film ever made. The film grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide, marking it as the third Jurassic film to achieve this milestone and ranking as the third-highest-grossing film of 2018, as well as the 12th-highest-grossing film of all time.

Three years later, a U.S. Senate committee debates the fate of the dinosaurs on Isla Nublar in light of an impending volcanic eruption. Chaotician Dr. Ian Malcolm argues that the dinosaurs should be allowed to perish, viewing it as a necessary step to correct the wrongs of John Hammond’s cloning practices.Meanwhile, Claire Dearing, the former operations manager of Jurassic World, has founded the Dinosaur Protection Group to advocate for the creatures’
survival. When the Senate votes against any government intervention to rescue the dinosaurs, Claire receives an invitation from Sir Benjamin Lockwood, Hammond’s former partner, to his estate in Northern California. Lockwood and his aide, Eli Mills, present a plan to relocate the dinosaurs to a new island sanctuary. To execute this plan, Claire must reactivate the park’s tracking system to locate the dinosaurs, especially Blue, the last surviving Velociraptor. She enlists the help of Owen Grady, her former colleague and Blue’s trainer, to assist in capturing her.
